Emotional Intelligence

Kroger want their customers to come back and shop with them. They greet you when you enter the store and they thank you at the end of the transaction.  An associate may lead you to the location of a product inside of just pointing in the direction of the product.  An associate can demonstrate how to work the self-checkout scanner.  Over time, an associate will know a customer’s product preference, or if the customer want paper over plastic. 

Kroger have associates that are willing to assist the elderly or disabled customer.  For example, walking with them through the store to get groceries, escorting the customer to the parking lot after shopping, or giving change back in a certain way for the visually impaired customers. 

Kroger have training opportunities for their employees, and they acknowledge the efforts of associates for their service.

Kroger has the Zero Hunger/Zero Waste initiative to address food insecurity while reducing food waste.  They also ask for donations for worthy causes.  They also offer customer discounts beyond the Kroger card.  Just recently, veterans received a discount off of groceries on Veterans Day.
